Hello Kaz, This is some incredible painting thus far. The face is extremely lifelike. Are you working from a particular painting for your reference colors? Amazing, will follow this one. Best of luck with it. Regards, SG:woot::happy:

Hi SG,
Recently I basically start from "Burnt Sienna + Naples Yellow", trying to change additional colors by each of the figure, to avoid paint in "same skintone".
In this project I use many Lincoln painting (2D paintings) as reference.

Kaz, Abraham Lincoln is still one of our greatest Presidents and this is a striking portrait of him. Excellent work my friend on a great and important subject. You've breathed life into something from such a long time ago.

Hi Kaz!
Congrats my friend, you are simply nailing it!
even though you are at the process stage, I want to give you some little tips, if I may  I manipulate your picture with photoshop, here it goes!

- The eyes are slightly small, and the sclera or white too, Lincoln had very asymmetric eyes and his iris were not line up.
- the eyebrows should be darker, will increase the look expresion.
- the beard, is a kinda transparent in the center and not completely straight, also darker will look better with a few grey hairs!
- The lips, the upper lip should be more angular and not curvy, some more reflection will look better.
-maybe the light on the tip of the nose could be as I draw in PS, not sure how to describe that lol, also reinforce the wrinkle on the top of the nose!

hope this helps my friend, looking awesome cheers!:angelic:

Jay, Mike, Rompy, Scott, Stephen, Gary, Ken, and Antonio, thanks a lot for your comments.
Thanks Jay for references, and thanks Antonio for suggestions.

Reason why I painted the eyebrows lighter color than typical image is I was referring to the portrait painting I like:

Agree with you Antonio, eyes should be a bit more larger, asymmetric.
I understood all the other elements, stay tuned I will post the next progress.

Marc, debrito, Edward, Mike, and Eduardo, Thank you very much for your compliments!
This time I'm trying to achieve oil-painting-like touches.

Here's a bit more updated version, now I'm updating the areas Antonio mentioned in the post above. Of course I'll keep on working' more.
