I have no desire to get into a pissing contest with any of you gentleman regarding my countries gun laws.

I think we can all agree that there is indeed evil in this world and I am glad to live in a country that allows me to legally defend myself and those I care for.
If you are comfortable delegating that task to others than good for you.

I simply wanted to support this forum and was looking for an option as to how to do that. I didn't anticipate being insulted for that.

Yes they were insulting, and when you finally realise why they where ,which is the nub of the issue;
hopefully you will realise many of us have lived lifes issues and experiences without the need to have

You need 21 feet distance just to get one shot off against a guy with a Knife and there is always the possibility of a jam and your dead
You aint even considered you might drop the bloody thing in the panic to unholster AND you can't move back quicker than he can move forward , forget about weapons best defence is to avoid in the first place .
The minute you have a gun you are no longer a good guy as no one knows what they will do in a life or death situation till it happens ,
if you shoot some one by mistake you are then a bad guy .

Blunderbus, I think it will be hard to avoid Paypal if you want to avoid fees. Other forms of money transfer can be costly. All principles come at a price... ;-)

I don't need a gun where I live , Glasgow is full of wonderful friendly people . just a nice sized city not too big not too small .
Re the gun situation particularly the hand gun ; it ain't the great leveller that the movies would have you believe .

I don't like paypal either but for other reasons

Paul, I think everyone on here and half the population of Earth have all seen that one on facebook in the last few weeks.

I've been watching this thread and I can't believe how one member's simple inquiry into how to become a supporter has been flippantly hijacked in such a self righteous way.

I wouldn't be surprised if Mark has decided to give it a miss after that personal tirade on a totally political issue......bloody shameful with or without funny emoticons.

I'm amazed that members need to be reminded this is an international forum for figure modelling and not political discussion.
I don't recall too many international members (besides me) shoving their nose into the political ideas being put forward during the recent Scottish independence referendum.

I reckon the UK needs to look no further than it's own imperial backyard and it's empire building use of firearms against everyone and everything that moved all over the planet to see how hypercritical the attitude towards the US is.

Also when it comes to the scenario with the guy coming at you with a knife and whether you have enough time to react......I'll go with the choice of having a gun while he lunges toward me with a knife and take my chances I get at least one shot in, to standing their like a rabbit with the headlights in my eyes waiting for a gut stab any time.

I think it a terrible shame that you feel the need to preach about someone not seeing the absolute dumbness in their argument in refusing to use paypal because they won't let him buy guns.
That wasn't political it's just dumb.
Now if he's offended by my comments that's actually fine you know for one reason.
People don't die of being offended, but they do by privately held firearms as you know.
I get the feeling that too many folks in this world get offended on behalf of other people, and there's no need.
Common sense is not political.
I will not apologise for what I said.

If you do read back my posts, you will see I have said and I state again
Supporting the site is great - have just done so, that's why I read the post in the first place.
But:
To say you won't spend $15.00 on an internet forum through paypal for the reason stated maybe in many people's opinion like mine,
A step too far in reasonably upholding a principle, that in itself is frowned upon by the majority of the rest of the worl5.
I also stated, the freedom to do so was fought for by many, but in the hope that mature deliberation would prevail against stupidity.
I also have the right to be an idiot but try not to be.
So, as I said my piece it was in the hope that we would talk about modelling and wished the guy all the best.
Why did he raise the issue in the first place, there was no need.

Paul, The guy just wanted help becoming a supporter.......he simply wanted instruction on how to pay as we all used to do without Paypal.

He didn't start a thread asking for yet another one of your A4 filled posts of reasons why he shouldn't do it or reasons why you have the right to tell him exactly why he's wrong or exactly how the world appears to peedee........I'm sure that's the last thing that keeps Blunderbus awake.

Can't we simply either give the advice which is asked by a member,... or if we can't think of any way to help them then just shut the f*%k up.
