Just finished this Young Miniatures ACHILLES Bust.
Not exactly my best paint job so far but at least it would look good next to the other HECTOR bust I finshed earlier this year :D

I have to remark how close to Brad Pitt (Ahn Jun Sik) sculpted the face. Another excellent sculpt by Ahn which I seriously doubt if I did it any justice
:(....oh well, next time maybe ;)

Best Regards and a HAPPY XMAS to Everyone.

Please tell us a little bit about how you did the bronze work for this bust. It is very well done.

Thank you all for your encouraging comments guys.

As for the metals, well, I always experiment a bit here and there when it comes to metals and keep working on it till it looks like errrmmm...metal to me :)

This particular bust was done as follows: The breast plates were given an acrylic mix of Nap Green, Black and Burnt Umber. Then stippled with various dark browns, medium browns, black, etc., afterwhich was given a coating of varnish. To vary a bit the helmet was given a coating of dark silverish metallic paint and stippled with black and raw umber oils here and there. After letting dry for a few minutes I dabbed the excess off with a tissue and hey presto.

yeah, the metal is top notch. thanks for sharing your technique, I will have to give it a try. Nice work on this bust.

Outstanding:eek::eek::eek:

I like what you have done with the metals, thank you for sharing the method you have used to obtain such a great result.

Cheers

The feel of a material of the metal is SUPERB.
If possible, please tell me how it was painted.
