Here are several shots of what has been going on in my studio this week.

In trying to keep the sleeves very full like a shell jacket, I think I have gone too far.

This is the one-off commission I've had going for a while. Here's the groundwork and the figure in setting before painting.

Looks like I screwed up the attachments. This is not a one-off. It's intended for Drummerboy miniatures, pending delivery, approval and casting. It's the same figure with the option of either head. I'll add the other pics here in a bit. That's the one-off.

John, Pesonally speaking I think the sleeves are right on. All too often people do a "tube like" sleeve, This might worl for a sack coat but not for shell and frock coats for the most part.

I like your other Confederate too. The few pieces of equipment laying around are great eye candy.~Gary

Hi John,

I see regulary some people showing us their sculpt wip.

What I can say about yours, is that as soon as I saw it my hand, brushes and oil paint are shaking.

I mean that I really feel like to paint theses figures.
It's not usual that I love sculpted figure at the first look.

Well done, any of the pics are great :)

John;
Don't get this wrong but photo #2 reminded me of the old Jackie Gleason schtick of "and, awaay we go." Nice figure.

I think you're on to something Larry. How's Chagrin Falls? I love that town.

Thanks all for your compliments. I've done a few ACW figures lately and as a result have come to really enjoy studying the garments worn during the period. It may be a new comfort zone for me.

Marvelous sculpting John! You guys are doing such nice things with Sculpey. I gotta try to do a full figure!

Larry - I laughed out loud when I read your comment! And a-way we go!
Maybe John should follow this up with another figure in the pose of "Some day Alice...some day - - right to the moon!"

All the best,
Dan

Hey, thanks Dan. I'm surprised noone's done the Honeymooners as a fig set. Maybe Andrea.....

I am an epoxy man though. I can't get my head around the Sculpey medium.
