Roger,
I agree with the Lady of your house, the background is easier on the eye, makes it easier to appreciate your paint job.

I like how you have kept the light source from up and the right (the figures left), this allows for consistent patterns of highlights and shade.

Thanks Jamie. The light source is the most important consideration when painting flats, get that right and you're halfway there.
