Hi,

I'm looking to buy the 1/9th bust of Cpt Gaultier, ADC to Marshal Suchet. If anyone has one in their GA, and willing to part with it, please let me know.
I'm also looking to purchase the 1/9th bust of the Chasseur a Cheval made by Mitch Military Models. Apparently Ross Mitchel as run out of molds for the figure and is not likely to make new ones any time soon. Hope someone has one in his GA for sale.

Thanks, Joel

Sorry to hear you can't get one of these straight away Joel.
I am honoured you used my painted one as an example,
best of luck.
It's a joy to have if you can get
hold of one.

Hi Peedee,

Your figure is one of the most beautifully painted bust I have ever seen. I got in touch with Gordon, of Mitch Military Models, last week, and he tells me that his son Ross who owns the molds, will not be able to make new ones due to being busy with new figures. It's really a shame, but it is what it is.

I so wish I had a spare one for you.
and thanks for the compliment you are most kind.

"On Ebay Bonaparte is selling ADC 200mm bust for £30 .oop + postage ."

The problem with selling it on Ebay, is that Bonapartes Models lowered the price of the figure by 13 Pounds( from his site), but added the difference to the postage cost. Bottom line is ,there is very little savings in the final cost to the buyer. So I'm still in the market for this figure, from someone who is willing to part with it at a reasonable price.

Hi Paul,
Postage to the UK might be 3.95 Pounds, but when I inquired as what he would charge for postage to New York City, he said 8.95 Pounds. So for me, the saving is not that great.

Joel

Hi Joel

£8.95 is cheap to New York, on Royal Mail the actual cost is £9.75. The website is £7.50 which I need to update as making a loss of £2.25 on postage!! Also ebay takes 10% on postage.
Website with postage is £50.50 and Ebay £38.95 = £11.55 saving.
I could not post it free to New York with the figure priced at £30 as you asked. If you change your mind let me know.

All the Best
Paul

Thanks Paul. Between you and Paul ( Peedee ), I was starting to get confused. Anyway, the kit is a bit pricey for me at the moment. I appreciate your position and might purchase the figure in the future. Also, hate to deal with Ebay.

Regards,

Joel

Hi Joel ,
Sorry your still looking for the 2busts. Yes the postage is a killer to U.S.A. and the other way round.
I asked about a figure on Ebayer , which was well priced but the postage cost more then the figure . So no sale , which was a shame .
It can cost between $16 - $25 , from U.S.A. so adding to cost of figure and you loss out, becomes to expensive.
I know Ebay take their cut , but it can be agood way of buying a figure/bust at a bargain price. Keep looking .

That of shipping costs is a plague that afflicts all countries.

In Italy the cost is about 10 € ... for overseas 20/30 € too high for puppets.

I wanted to buy books in Canada ... I gave up, shipping and customs duties outperformed the commercial value ... basically I had to pay 200% more

The solution, but with biblical times, is to rely on acquaintances or acquaintances of acquaintances that make us between the continents .... for some things it works
