I would like some help on the detail of the adjustment strap and buckle, on the rear of the french shako. 1808-15.
I have just realised that this is missing from the shako I am currently painting.

Interesting one Bob - been through my references and apart from a couple of contemporary prints which almost show the back (and not much detail) best I've found is this modern reproduction. I'll take a look at the Rousellot plate in a moment or two to see if that helps any

Hi Bob,

Here is more info if you still need it.

Joel
Two views of the real thing, the 1806 infantry shako. Photos published in Tradition Magazine No 224 July/August 2006. Hope this is of some use,
cheers,
Pierre

Thank you all very much. I also had searched the repro market. I had been looking for originals but drew a blank.
Thank you again.
Regards
