WOW! you have been busy Keith. Very nice collection you have painted, I particularly like the Dragoon drummer, looks very well painted especially the whites.

Will check this one out on the Bonaparte web site.

What is the light box and where did you get it?

Tommi

I too like your work Keith. Excellent painting IMHO. I don't regard it as old fashioned at all, but as one of the genres of painting figures that is still very much in vogue, for me at least. I especially like your style, the artistic quality of your painting, and the vibrance of your colours. They are like a burst of sunshine.

Its not the style of painting that counts, its the fact that you paint, and enjoy doing so. Figure painting is another form of art, and like art people have difference styles, different techniques, and different periods they prefer. Not all soldiers were on campaign, and for most they spent more time in garrison having NCO's ensure they were ***** and span for 'parade duties.'

Hi Keith,
Firstly, sorry you cannot make the show, your attendance will be missed:( . But not to worry, we will take plenty of photo's for you:).

The only thing old style about those is the period, you should move up about 64 years to modern times;), now that would bring you to about 1879 I believe:LOL:. You know me never miss an opportunity:facepalm:. If those were my subject matter I would be more than proud to have those in my display cabinet. You keep wielding those brushes mate(y)

Hi Guys thanks again for all of the motivational comments it is much appreciated.

The link above is for the light box that I bought and was the one recommended by Peedee-It is small, very simple and cost effective. There are others on Ebay depending on how complex you want to make it up to about £40. This one is £11.59 and free postage.

I do not understand the designation "old fashioned".This is an artistic hobby and each of us tries-after years of practice-to acquire his/hers unique signature style as do classic painters and sculptors. You have perfected yours and your produce is charming and well worth inspecting thoroughly and from up close.I like the mounted figure especially.I think that the work you've done on the horse is simply amazing!

Oda.

Very nice job on all three figures. Must not underestimate your abilities. I think they are really well done. I like the rider, but all three are beautiful. And I wish you many more projects, full of fun and relax :)

Cheers Borek
