These pics show just a few of the Hunter Valley coalfields pubs.
Most of these pubs were situated directly opposite the pit gates. Hunter Valley mines these days are massive open cut operations, all the older underground mines opposite these pubs are now closed.

Great work on the bust Mark and I found the photo's of the pubs interesting. A mate of my Uncle keith's (Kotara, NSW) lived in Kurri Kurri, he came across and stayed with us a couple of times.
