I'm wanting to do a small 2 figure diorama based on the Alamo . Basicly the 2 figures will be standing on part of the wall which has been damaged by cannon fire so part of the wall will be reduced to roof level . I need to know what were the roofs or walkways made of , I would like to introduce wooden planking to give a contrast to the adobe walling . Also what are the round wooden poles that stick out of the buildings for about 2 or 3 feet down from the top , were they roofing joists ?

Gordon, the roof was probably intended to be tile as most Spanish/Mexican buildings (churchs were), but since the buildings were derelict and you want to show damage wood planking would be suitable IMO. As far as the poles, yes I believe they are joists. You might want to Google California missions to get an idea. HTH

What figures are those; I really like them.
