Thank you kindly Gents, I'm still working away with this figure, refining areas and detailing the parka. I'm about to start the equipment to the rear, I hope to get some new images up soon.

Thanks again : )

Hi Bro

Another instantly recognisable WIP. Love the parka and your trade mark helmet. I also liked the way you finished your Uboat skipper. A very original way to bring those warm tones into the base. Looking forward to seeing this one progress.

Hi John, good to see you here mate! thanks for your feedback as always :)

A small update, the soldiers gear always takes me a while to paint with all the small details, so whilst these are being worked on, I made a good start to the base. I used pre-mixed mud in a pot by MIG, just because I had it to hand, its a great texture and dries rock hard, this was worked over a rough terrain made from Magic Sculpt. I added lots of tree roots to replicate fallen twigs and a forest floor type look, along with dried leaves and long grass. It may need tweeking once dry and the figure is mounted but its about there, I will add a light dusting of snow also at some point, I think ...

Cheers

Carlos

Hi Carlos,

Lovely groundwork. I would certainly support your idea of adding a light dusting of snow. It makes the wearing of the white reversible parka more logical.

Without the snow it would seem to make more sense to have your figure wearing the Autumn leaf pattern on the outside ;)

I second that. Groundwork looks great, but a sprinkling of snow Would make it even better.
I like the profile in the groundwork by the way.

Hi Tony,

I originaly had in mind all Whites and a blanket of snow, but now I've added the groundwork I quite like it, so may just add a sprinkling to give the figure some context as you say, although I have also thought about doing the winter over trousers in oakleaf Autumn side out ... Thanks for your feedback buddy : )

Hi Joe,

Many thanks ; ) it's taking a while to complete this one with all the detail and Whites, but I'm slowly chipping away at it!

Hi Adrian,

Appreciate your thought also mate, I will make a test base and see how the snow looks before adding it to this one, as I use a few different products depending on the type.

Cheers

Carlos
