HI all,

I'm almost done with my Japanese project. Just some touch up to do and then finish!! Pretty happy with the result so far.

I'm always trying to find different base to put a figure on. Some will say that my base are too large for my figure but for me, I get as much fun doing the base as painting the figure itself. In this case, the pilot I saw was on a carrier during WWII. I couldn't come up with the whole carrier:D so I decided to used a small part of it as a back groud. Since I see it early in the morning, there should be small light over every doors on the boat. I tried to have a red light but there was not enough light coming out of it. So I decided to use only a white led outside. Inside the is another led and I did paint some translucid tamiya yellow on it. Everything run on a 9 volt battery with a switch.

Here is the pics:

I just realized that if everything is dark and the is in front facing the opposite of the wall, we wont see anything on the figure face. I must place the figure with the wall on the side like my favorite shot. I did tried to use a tripod but i think I still have to work on my photographic skill for the moment!!!

Hope you enjoy!!!

Nice idea, sure looks awesome with the lamp on. Do you mind making a picture without flash and with the led on? Nice figure btw.

Clarence, fine work here. I can tell you had fun with this one. I too would like to see a pic with lower light to get the effect of the lamps if you can. I actually like the large wall in back of this figure. The wall is imposing and so was the purpose and the mission he is about to take part in. I think it works! Well done.

I like the base. It gives a sense of scale that is missing from a lot of pieces. The figure looks pretty nice but the flash is washing it out. As far as the flash goes find a room with a window and start taking some photos of the figure near a window. It does not have to be in full sunlight to get good photos. Also put your camera on a tripod so it stays really still. If the camera stays still you would be surprised at how little light you need to get a good photo. It would be cool to see what the figure looked like with just the bulkhead light. It might need a little bounce card placed out of frame to throw a little more light on the front of the figure, but it would be fun to see.

I did a box a few years ago and I was having trouble getting light on a figure in an APC. I put a little piece of white plastic on the frame right next to the window but and it bounced just the right about of light at the figure.
