I think this is really interesting and I have been watching these guys develop this for a little bit. They are not casting copies either. You are buying a 3d print. And the cost is a bit higher than a resin figure, but think the cost is not the ultimate barrier anymore. As eluded to above - I think the barrier now becomes scanning action poses and access to the right subject - appropriate costume/uniform, etc. and right body type. That might spawn a little side market for uniform collectors and historians, but also 3d scanning networks across the globe so you have access to the right subjects and don't have to trek someone across the globe to get a good scan.

Please sign me up as the scanning technician for some female fantasy figures if we ever get there.

Have been watching these sort of breakthrus with a lot of interest

8 years ago painted a topographical model for business - things very crude and expensive and one colour

Now -wow

will never stop me from sculpting as I do Animorphs and Dwarfs - so have my niche already

but yes personalised prints of individuals - a retiring General/ Admiral as Tanker or Flight crew

Incredible detail. I like the aircrews in particular, but all are incredible. The options are apparently endless, beauty!

Cheers, Ski.

Quote; "Hi Antonio, Really incredible, which 3d printer have you used? I not see the different layers ".

My question too?

The last time I had some 3D printing done at 54mm size, the layer line's ruined the piece, face & boob's.
The leg's and arm's could be 'cleaned up' but difficult to get to area's, it was hopeless.

Lovely sculpts and print's.

Michael.

Fantastic intricate detail. Are these 3D printed as they come out of the printer
or do you have to 'clean them up' ?

Are these the 3D print's or have you made Resin copie's?

Do you use Shapeway's for Printing ?

Absolutly fantastic however you do them.

Michael.

they look fastastic indeed, I think it's how they come out of the printer, anyway I have nothing to do with this company(I wish LOL), the link is in the first page of this post! cheers

Hi all, I finaly loged in, in order to answer to some questions.
Pictures shows figures as they come out of the printer, they are only washed from remaining resin and material support is removed.
Company has his own printer : an Envisiontec Perfactory IV, as most of these figures are over the limit in memory and in number of triangles of Shapeways.
In addition to figures, the company provides also printing service, so Reedoak provides already printed figures to other companies or designers.

I use 3d scanner too, but not so good, so i must resculpt all small pieces, but my 3d printer same, printing without layers. I really think about making studio like this 1 year ago but 50% of my work can't be scanned. Robots, monsters and etc. So i use my scanner to make better pose and proportion even then i sculpt something unreal.
