Amazing New figure from Romeo - Maurizio Bruno

Hi firends and have a nice and good year .

It will be pretty good in figures also as it has started nicely .

I post below a sneak preview of the latest creation of Planet Figure Member Maurizzio Bruno for Romeo Models from Italy.

This is a Geeek Oplite " Siceliota" in 54 mm

Dated V sec. a.C. with Tracian Helmet

ROMEO will release this in January .

The sculpture is a very "clean " one , with perfect anatomy , and recreation of the "muscle scheme" thorax and all other details . This is a joy for a painter

I only have to say that i am really impressed seeing the master Sculptor of Napoleonics doing such a super fine work in his first Ancient Greek figure . I really hope that Maurizio will surprise us in the same way many many times.

He is one of the best sculptors in the business and a very very good guy . This is definately in my wish list , and absolutely on the top of it .

thanks for posting. This is a beautiful figure. Maurizzio is the master of detail in 54mm, and this looks to be no exception. His Napoleonics are masterful, it's wonderfull to see him moving to other subjects.

Lovely work on the muscled cuirass Maurizio but I think it's much too defined and the details are wrong for this date. The feet look very good - two difficult things to sculpt.

Nice to see the bunching at the shoulders of the chiton

For Einion the armor laughed them from one image represented in a Greek vase of the 460 BC. and I have just represented this image that made part of the supplied documentation me

I'm not a big fan of 54mm's, Maurizio, but this piece is extremely tempting!!! A fantastic sculpt with wonderful detail! Thank you for sharing it with us - I believe it will be on many people's wish list (probably mine, too).

I saw this on the homepage and ASSUMED it was at least 90mm just because of the level of detail. Then I saw the scale, and was amazed. Then I read who the sculptor was and everything made sense. Of course. Ancient Greeks have never really been my "cup of tea" but, I can see myself getting this figure.
