So, I could advance the face, hair and beard. Painted the eyes (down to the veins) and tweaked the bruises a bit to add some more "bruised red" around the actual cuts. That makes it a little bit more realistic. I will further enhance the cuts itself, using a glossy finish to simulate fresh wound. I might add a little bit of blood running down on one of the bruises.
Now started the metal chainmail, using Vallejo Metal Color Range (Steel and Silver for Highlights), then weathereed using VMS Pigments with their Enamel Binder 2.0 for the worn, dark metal look. You can see the metal on the arms weathered, and the neck area yet to be done with pigments :
On a jump to finish off, I did the whole leather vest and sword belt without any progress photos, but it's finished.

This is my first ever model without any varnish at any time. Just plain natural finishes from the painting process and their natural sheen. I like to give each material and part their own distinctive sheen as in reals life. I use less and less varnish on my projects, and this is the first completely varnish free.
