Oops missed the last update, love those trousers Malc they look really great. Looks like inks are becoming more mainstream and with their versatility that's going to be great.

I 'm popping into Hobbycraft today to look at the Liquitex inks, I have a few Citadel ones but don't use them like this. Got to love this forum and all the sharing of techniques and materials.

Hi Malc

Interesting you mentioned inks , I’ve a couple from Citadel/GW but not really used them as much ...going to give it a go after seeing the results here and on Colin Fraser’s bust

There’s a thread called INKS in General Figure forum ...
All are very welcome to post thoughts , comments etc

Looking forward to seeing more

Thanks Simon. You're spot on the things you learn from fellow modellers is incredible.
It's changed how I paint quite a bit.

Not much of an update I'm afraid, I'm just not in the mood for painting at the moment.
So at this point, I been working on the base, it's needs a bit more work, but hopefully
it'll give you and idea.

Well it's coming together nicely, hopefully the painting mojo will be back soon.....

Malcolm,
As usual a superb figure 'paint job', but also that's a great piece of 'grass work'........so very natural! Well done. Look forward to seeing it at the next FMMG meeting [next Saturday?].

Hi Nap, the inks are worth giving a go.

Hi Nigel, not sure where the mojo went, I was quite happy with the way things were going.
But up it got and went, despite that I've been at the bench just doing a little work.

Fingers crossed it will be back soon.

Cheers Kim

the mini nature accessories are very realistic, and add to all kinds of groundwork.
I'll be bringing him to the club next Saturday.

I'm am still working on the Napoleon figure, but sadly I had some issues with matt varnish, that
came out glossy. :-(
Fingers crossed that can be rectified.
In the meantime I've had another attempt of painting the face on the bust, this time I've opted for oils.
Not painted a face in oils for about 6 years.
Got the basic tones down, and will push the shadows and highlights tomorrow.

That's coming along really well Malc, oils can be a lot more forgiving than acrylics due to the longer working times. He's looking really rather natural at the moment so he's going to be epic when you're done.

Cheers Simon,
Oils are certainly more forgiving, especially with flesh tones.
I gave up using oils, when I had to start wearing splints, and struggled with them, which is why I switched to
acrylics. I was quite pleased with how the painting went this morning, so fingers crossed I won't mess it up
and continue using them in the future.

Coming along well, Malc, liking the skin tones
Melanie
Thanks Melanie.

I have a good palette mix, that always brought me nice results.
Which I'll post up later.

Just settling down to watch the rugby...... come on England.
