Hello Gray ,
I want to buy some Andrea Kits in the future , Trebuchet 54mm Dio and The afrika korps 90mm motorcycle with sidecar .
By the way , still wainting for your reply abou my Pegaso Bust , sent the email about 20 hours ago...
Regards
Julian Conde

Gray,
Here in brasil , we have a local store called HOriginal (www.horiginal.com.br) , and it represents MMD/SQUADRON and VLS .
For me , even with the price a little high , it's a good deal to order from them , since I can Pay in installments , every kind of deal to get the kit .
When I buy things online , I have to pay by credit card , and it's only one time payment , and full price at one time.
I only get things over the net , when this little store cannot get me via vls or squadron , since they don't have what I am looking for .
Those two kits from andrea I mentioned , it's in a distant future , and sure will ask for your deal with them !
I just had a reply from Historex about the bust , they have pretty good deal , a total price just a bit lower than yours , but I still want to wait for your final word .
Thanks for everything
Julian

The Andrea thing may have been a mistake that has been corrected. There must be other things they do to deserve your description beyond the Andrea pricing.

I Must say I have to agree with John, there must be more to this, after all a company selling a produsct at a much higher price than you is bad for thier business but surely good for yours.

I, too, am curious about this. I've always found Squadron pricing to be reasonable, even with the sales tax I must pay as a resident of Texas. Before Squadron lowered its prices on Andrea, they were charging no more than Michigan Toy Soldiers or The Red Lancer charge now. They have some pretty good sales, and offer free shipping on orders of over $100 (at least in the US). My only complaint would be that they don't carry all the lines I'm interested in, but no dealer carries everything.

Hi

I know that Squadron have hosed dealers in the past. They were selling stuff direct to the public for less or the same as they'd sell to hobby shops (so it was cheaper for me to mail order to Denton TX than to drive to a shop just near Squadron's head office, 20 miles from where I lived). The double mission of retailer and distributor can keep the consumer happy, but makes it hard to run a small business.

So Gray is probably speaking as a person who has to deal with Squadron and still make a buck, whereas the rest of us are buying directly to feed our addiction!

It's interesting that the Andrea figures suddenly dropped about 30% in price. I wonder why? Were sales dropping?

Then MMD drove a hard bargain and negotiated the best terms for itself. Maybe it is Andrea's fault for agreeing. There is nothing new in those arrangements with the possible exception of the manufacturer sustaining the agreement. Andrea must have accepted the terms since they are the only one who could enforce the exclusivity. Perhaps it was time for renewal and Andrea negotiated a pricing cap and, as a result, we see lower prices.

MMD approached me wanting to carry my line but it was my right to do so or not. I said no for many reasons, none of which had anything to do with MMD.
