Andrea - Mounted Officer of Artillery

Hi all.......when I first looked at the New release from Andrea Miniatures I was immediately attracted to it by the relaxed and elegant pose of horse and rider.
Having constructed the major parts from the booklet in the box I am preparing get into the painting.. The kit is white metal and resin....the horse, officers torso and small detail parts are white metal, .the sabretache and officers legs in resin...
I have sprayed the horse with Halfords grey primer before over spraying with a sand colour.This will help with the highlights when the oils are applied. The sabretache is sprayed light grey to eventually take the blue oils....the rider is sprayed white with the face sand.
The casting and fit of parts is exceptional....clean up is minimal...will post further as the painting progresses....all the best Mike

Looks great , can you give me a better idea of which parts are metal or resin please , is the head resin? I don’t know why Andrea insist on using Metal as it makes the piece to heavy and in my opinion resin shows detail much better not even gonna mention postage prices !. , Poste Militaire cast there 90mm ugrian Standard Bearer horse in resin to perfection 20 years ago for goodness sake !

Thanks for your comments Neil.....as already said the only resin parts are the officers legs and the sabretache....all other parts white metal..... I personally don't have a problem with white metal figures it's all a matter of personal preference....all the best Mike

Hi Ron and thanks for looking.... I'm not an expert in taking measurements and comparing to scale....Andrea have many 90 mm figures in their range and I'm sure they will have done their homework....perhaps you could drop Andrea an email....all the best Mike
