Man, am I dissapointed. Yesterday I got into my little car and took a trek over to my friends house to pick up my new bust from Andrea that my friend picked up for me at MFCA last weekend.
As soon as I got it, I opened it up and started my inspection. What I found was a grey colored bust with lots and lots of problems with the chain mail. There's entire lines of chain mail missing on the bottom row around the neck, and then it looks as if someone picked him (the bust) up by the arm areas when it was still hot or something and the chain mail was flattened there as well as in other areas as well as flattened details on his beard. My friend also purchased one at MFCA and when he saw mine he quickly opened up his. It was damaged in the same areas that mine was damaged and... with his kit, the base was a differant resin, not that its a big deal, but it got us thinking. It seemed to us that the yellow resin on his base was a better grade than the gray resin that both our figures were made with, it just seems softer.
I love the figure, I really don't want to return it, but I'm no sculptor nor am I talented enough to start carving mail. I'm not trying to slam Andrea by any means here. I love em! I really do. I love my wife too, doesn't mean that we're always going to agree, right? I must say, I was a little dissapointed this time, I actually have 54mm figures with greater detailed mail than whats on this huge bust. Bad batch?
Have any of you had a problem with this figure? If so, how did you fix it? I'm open for any ideas. Hopefully later I can get some photos to Guy Herrick and ask him to post them for me.
