Hello friends,
here is a review of a limited edition miniature, ok in 1/6th it's not a tiny miniature for sure ...
it is from a company called GK Cast, they produce Garage kits mainly oriented toward mangas but when i saw this Android ... i needed it ! it costed me 80$ (Can) shipped from Hong Kong.
it arrived in a sturdy white cardboard box very well protected and each parts were really well taken care of by sealing them in different air pockets.
due to the relative complexity of the kit GK gives us instructions on how to assemble it
on to what is important : casting, honnestly i was not waiting for something easy ... how wrong i was !
casting is simply the best i've ever seen, absolutely no mold line or flash to find on the white resin, all parts have molded plugs to allow assembly and ... the fit is perfect.
just see by yourself : there'S no glue involved in the following picture :
let's get into details,
Torso :
the Torso is made of 3 parts : front with a lot of mechanical details and shoulders, neck, and back are the second part, arms are too parts of this mold and stop at the elbow.
third part is the spine, which is a kit in itself with winglets to be added to each "vertebrae"
Head :
the face is very juvenile, but looks good for an Android, she don't have the classical manga style and i love that ! a good point is that the front hair are a separate part, which will allow an easy painting (easy in term of placement ... obviously)
one detail : there is a small decals sheet for ... the eyes ? obviously GK Cast is not aware of how painters are obsessed by painting eyes LOL ... do i need to tell you that i won't use this ?
The legs are ... well ... legs but the Hips are full of intricate details .
Conclusion :
honnestly i was amazed when opening the box by the very high quality of the kit, i've seen "pro" miniatures that simply don't match this one ! And i can't wait to begin the work on her.
Speaking of this : i will most probably cut the legs just under the hips as, while beautifully done, they don't add much to the kit (unless you're into manga collection)
I will probably try another paint scheme than the all white showed on the instructions but ... this is still under debate in my troubled head hahahaha
that's all for today folks ... I still have an Anubis to finish first
