Angus McBride has passed away

A wargames miniatures site is observing a period of silence for Historical Illustrator Angus McBride who has passed away at the age of 76 from a heart attack. My sympathy goes out to all of Mr. McBride's family and friends.

Since first seeing his work when I was a young boy. I've bought a number of Ospreys over the years mainly because I enjoyed looking at his colorful illustrations and not so much the subject. I feel the quality of Osprey art has gone down over the years and his work will be a hard void to fill.~Gary

I only know him for his illustrations, that i use it alot for painting my figures.

I was curious as to when Osprey was going to make some sort of tribute to Mr. McBride. One can scarcely think of Osprey Men-at-Arms books without thinking of him and the huge body of work he produced over the years.~Gary
