Well, it's been a really bad week for me here. First, the liquid mask I used on my kamikaze bust lifted off bits of the paint on its face and I ended up having to strip it.
Now, it's the Galland busts turn.
I had a little time last night to do some touchups on the head. I'd been working on it for about 10 or 15 minutes when, all of a sudden, the head falls out of the clamp I'd been using to hold it. It happened so fast that I didn't have a chance to even try to catch it before it hit the floor.
Here is a link to the results...

Galland

A nice gash to the left cheek and 2 to the piping on the hat.
I'm going to try to repair it but I figure that I'll end up needing to strip it down.
Man...what a bad week!
This reminds me of a Rodney Dangerfield joke:
"I put on my shirt this morning and a button fell off.
I picked up my briefcase and the handle came off.
I'm afraid to go to the bathroom!"

Oooh sound nasty. At least you found the head. Could this be the start of a new thread ie " My worst modelling moment".....?

Mine would be reaching for the dullcote for the final spray on a finished figure and picking up grey primer.........I leave the rest to your imagination (there were tears though....)

Sharpie,
I'll go one better - try reaching for your beer and instead taking a big swig of silicoil. Not a fun experience

Ok Pete thats taking the taste for modelling to the extreme......anyway how about driving to a show, your labour of love secured in a box on the floor, and a sudden (not too hard) braking sends your street directory flying into it...........and all the other guys at the show look at your empty hands and say "hey weren't you bringing something?"......

Sharpie,
Been there, done that. Once I was driving to a club meeting in town and had someone cut me off on the freeway; my slam-on-the-brakes sent the projector I was carrying to the meeting up and over my latest project. I also had some buttmunch trip and land on my carry-on while leaving Hartsfield International on my way to the Atlanta show last year. Thank God a friend of mine brought a "mini-workbench" with him, so we were able to repair the damage - it was the LaTorre 54mm Clinch Rifles.

Hey, you know what? This would be a good discussion: what have been some of your worst experiences with accidental breakage of figures? What do you say, guys? I can imagine there are some stories out there that legends are made of.

Good idea could lighten up a dull night...or maybe it's just us two who are walking disasters....

I was looking for a small pouch I thought I'd dropped - 15 mins later found it superglued to my arm....
