Cheers from wet Cumbria.
I've been sorting out the photography side of the hobby over the past few months and am now playing about with Affinity Photo as an editing program.
https://affinity.serif.com/en-gb/photo/
If you're looking for an excellent user friendly option to Photoshop give this program a try... worth every penny in my humble opinion.
Once you have your main photos of your figs you can play with any concepts you can dream up and all the other images are free on the web as downloads.
I've attached a variety of images created over the past week.
Just to answer the question which may crop up... I have not manipulated the bust photos and they are shown as painted.
Cheers and enjoy the hobby in anyway you can.

An easy way to spend a rainy afternoon...apart from painting figures that is :)
Cheers and keep painting

Jonathan,

Many thanks for alerting us to this editing program. I am looking at something to use with coloured maps and photos for presentations and books. Does this have an ability to draw arrows, lines, (dotted dashed etc) and other overlays on photos?

Cheers
Chris

I really like this but I think it takes too much away from the paintwork on the miniature...Great for box art but who am I to say; I can't even post a good pic of my own work.

Nice graphics. Background images are an effective way to illustrate the 'story' a figure is telling.
I don't know the Ann Bonny bust - can you say who made it?

Nice presentation Jonathan, excellent program to use with your work!
As for the bust of Ann Bonny you have, as you can see from the image is a bust from Ademola 22 and it is Mary Read.
This answers sippog's question.
Ann Bonny was made from Nutsplanet i think...

Congratulations also for the fine paintwork you did with the busts.!!!

Right you are on the Mary Read bust... I just popped a name on that came to my mind.
Re, Chris's Q about the program... there's nothing it can't do as far as I can see. If it doesn't have an image in store, just look for one on the web and you'll have it in seconds.
Make you sure download PNG files as they are translucent (sp) where as JPGs are solid.
I believe they have a trial option of the program but if you're used to any software it's dead easy to learn and there are loads of tutorials on YouTube... look them up...
Affinity etc etc etc.

Happy painting folks.
Cheers and stay dry and inside...it's the only safe way to paint.
Jonathan

AS far as I know Samson. Do a search on YouTube for Affinity on Ipad... I know I've seen links so have a go and good luck.
Cheers
