Hey,
I just wanted to know if anyone is aware of any companies or models that were made in 1/16 or 90mm scale on the topic of WW2 Japanese soldiers? I’ve seen many for German/American but I haven’t been too lucky in finding many great sculpts of any Japanese soldiers.

Hi Toshiya,
Miniatures Andrea have a Japanese Infantry Sergeant Major WWII in 90mm

Pete

The company 'Dog Tag' had one.
It's OOP now, but someone might have one in their GA.

Cheers,

Hello,
Sorry if the way I replied was incorrect, I am still new here
And my English is not the best~ But what is GA?
Because this figure is actually perfect for the idea I had for project. So if it’s ok to ask, how is a way to know if it’s in someone’s GA?

Hi Toshiya, go to the market and commissions section of the site and put a wanted to buy advertisement on there.
The Dog Tag kit is very rare, but you never know.. I would look up ( google ) the Victory miniatures web site, they have a 150mm ( 1/12 ) scale Japanese figure advancing which might suit your purpose.

Cheers

Warren.

Given that Japan was one of the major combatant nations of WW2, it's astonishing to me that so few Japanese figures have ever been available in larger scales beyond those shown above. And most of them are pilots.

1/35 is probably the best-served scale for Japanese figures overall, but a lot of those are now OOP.

Verlinden did this 2-figure vignette (now also OOP of course) but I don't think it's one of their best efforts (the US Marine's pose is rather "wooden"):

I've got the Dog Tag figure part-assembled but don't want to sell it as I plan on finishing it at some stage. It was later re-issued under the Miniature Alliance brand name but again went OOP.

Hi Toshiya GA means grey army-a stash of kits that people still have stored at home for future use.

Pete

In fact Ga is the chemical symbol for Galium
or written GA is the internet subcode for Gabon or means GigaAmps ( electricity ), ga is the language spoken in Ghana
or lot of others
It's the very first time I see somebody writing GA instead of " grey army " ( perhaps he had not enough ink :D )

He's started branching out a bit from just doing Germans, so I messaged Jeff Shiu this morning (with a link to this thread) to suggest something Japanese.

Whether he'll go for it I do not know and of course it's entirely up to him, but I'm sure he'd smash it if he did. Thought it worth an ask, he can only say No!
