I had originaly painted this figure about six months ago and had it sittingin the cabinet. After looking at it yesterdy, and thinking about comments from earlier postings, I took it out and did some more work on it, putting in some more highlights. Most of my work for the last year or so are works in progress that I will add to after a couple of months of doing nothing to the figure. The time off the figure allows a different perspective to the figure, which in most cases allows me to improve it.

The figure is an Andrea, 54mm, of Aragon, from Lord of the Rings. The figure comes with the tree attached to the base, making a good scene right out of the box. The casting was very good (very little clean up required) and the likness to the movie Aragon is very good also. I underpainted the figure in acrylics and overpainted in oils. I choose earth colors for the figure as I felt earth tones are better suited for a Ranger (what Aragon was refered to in the book). All subsiquent painting is in oils.

Hopefully these pictures are better than my last couple of postings. Each picture taking session has been a learning experience. Getting the distance, lighting, and sizing in porportion are a greater challange than I had origanly thought.

Good work Edward.
Some more highlighting on the cape, and some more shading on the flesh will do no harm.
But again, it is a good start.
I suggest that you let your oil paint dry in a drybox. This will reduce the shine of the paint.
