1) Hello everybody,
Here’s a new figure that I made for MichaelMiniatures . It was a big challenge for me to start with an equestrian project. The character is Archduke Charles , Duke of Teschen who defeated Napoleon in 1809 in Aspern, near Vienna. He was an austrian field-marshal, the third son of emperor Leopold II and his wife Infanta Maria Luisa of Spain. The mainly part of documentation that I used was the Statue of the Archduke from Heldenplatz in Viena whose author is the local sculptor Anton Dominik Fernkorn who created the statue between 1860 and 1865.

Hello again,
Many thanks for your interest. I’m back with the second step of the W.I.P. Well as for the first step I was trying to make the composition and the basic anatomy of the rider and horse now it’s time to make the main separations for the biggest volumes. Concerning the composition, this is not a copy of the statue , it’s just an interpretation and I turned somehow into a more dramatic movement which I thought will make it more expressive.

Incredible. What a blessing it must be to have that kind of
talent and that kind of courage. And equestrian figures are
so difficult as actually, you're doing two figures. . . But there
I go again, stating the obvious. You can see what kind of
talent you have as an artist just by looking at the shape of
the terrain beneath the horse. Very artistic and that shape also
"promotes" the atmosphere, or heightened excitement that
exists in "spades" in regards to the Horse and rider. Wow,
congratulations on a very fine start. Also, excellent photos,
with most dramatic lighting. The Miami Jayhawk

Hello again, I'm back with the 3rd step of this W.I.P . First of all many thanks for the kind words .
In this phase I was just cleaning the volumes of each pieces working separately and then assembling for the pictures that you see . I'll be back with the rest of the photos as soon as possible,
My best
Paul

Well, durn burn it. :( I can't seem to leave well enough alone.
The latest work is so impressive. Altho I noticed right away
in the first images, I did not mention the following. The tail
of the horse, the way it curves and has that very artistic flow
going rearward, is just beautiful. And the same kind of
linear talent is displayed in the way you have done the coat
tails, love the curves, folds, et cetera, the way they are so
expertly sculpted, and fits so well with the rest of your
work. Very dynamic and full of tension and atmosphere.
Following with eager anticipation! Huh? There's a song
about "Anticipation" I do recall, seemingly it seems. o_O

This is just beautiful ! I would like to confirm whether this is the same subject matter as New Michael Miniatures which has recently released a 75mm mounted figure of Archduke Charles.
