The Atlanta Military Figure Society (AMFS) would like to give everyone an update
and reminder of our show in February.

New Venue

Don't forget that we have moved to a larger venue which should be great for our exhibitors and vendors!

For pre-registration forms and hotel information, please check out the web site: www.atlantafigures.com. We have been working hard to make this show our best, so hope you can be here with us!

Time to start making those reservations!

Hotel Transportation Logistics

The Atlanta Marriott Century Center has hotel transportation available for its guests within a 3 mile radius of the hotel, this included numerous restaurants and the Brookhaven Marta Station, which connects to the airport. Arrangements to be picked up at the Brookhaven Station are arranged with the hotel (404-325-0000). Transportaion is available upon request; however, reservations are not accepted. Daily departure times from the hotel are on the half hour from 7 to 9 a.m., on the hour frrom 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., on the half hour from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and hourly from 8 to 10 p.m. After 9:00 a.m. the hotel provides transportation on a request basis, with the final departure from the hotel at 10:00 p.m. The hotel also has 24 hour taxi services available with a 15 minute advance notice.

Mike Hall

The Atlanta Military Figure Society is honoring our first grand master, Mike Hall, at this years show. Mike has graciously agreed to not only bring some of his newer work, but some of his older work as well. This will be a great opportunity to not only see some masterful work, but to meet and greet one of the all time great men of our hobby!

Seminars

Anders Heintz will be doing a seminar on Saturday, "Sculpting Techniques and Theories". As one of the leading "young guns" in our hobby, we are very fortunate to have Anders present his first public seminar at a major show. We have a much improved and larger seminar room at our new venue.

On Sunday, we will have a forum of Atlanta’s Grand Masters and leading painters! Q & A time with some of the best in the hobby should be a must for any painter. Two additional seminars sponsored by the AMPS club will be announced at a later date.

Awards, Awards, Awards

We know no one paints for awards, but at AMFS, we love to honor the work. AMFS continues to offer a number of memorial and specialty awards and don’t forget this year’s Theme Award, World War 2 Allies, with 1st place winning a $100 gift certificate and 2nd place winning a $50 gift certificate.

In addition, our new Fantasy Category, will offer 5 new awards for those that favor this category. . For specifics regarding these awards, check out show information at www.atlantafigures.com.

Several of these new awards are sponsored by Games Workshop and Reaper, both well known names in the Fantasy arena. In honor of AMFS recognizing Fantasy as a separate category, Reaper will be awarding each of the first 200 exhibitors to register an exclusive 3 pack of their award winning Reaper paints. In addition to awarding an Emperor's Fist Tank Company, Games Workshop will be donating three Golden Demon Tickets.

We appreciate all our award sponsors and wish to thank our two newest sponsors.

Happy Holidays and Happy Painting to all of you! AMFS
