Beside another variant of "Victory roll" and silly hat, we have very bright and red lipstick.
Why so bright and red ? Apparently it was a symbol for fight for freedom, and color was called "patriot red"...

So far I have rough volumes with symmetry still on and obviously messed up region around the lips:

She is looking up on the poster, will try to give her some reason to look up using hands...
Something like this i think would be interesting:

Interesting start, who is this one based on? and you are right, that is not a glamorous hat.
The pose of applying lipstick would be interesting but it is generally a rule not to block the view of the face of a bust, it is why we paint them after all. Maybe on a full figure?

Would you consider doing a member of the German Womens auxiliary forces later as part of this collection. A uniform like this:

They had the same roles as Allied women. A real portrayal not an "SS She Wolf" type thing.

I have that in mind, the hand with the mirror will be more to the side, and the one holding lipstick more down to the chest. More like "Looking in the mirror on the side and preparing to apply lipstick"

Something like this, it's rough but You get the idea:

I matched the profile with Rita, but did not go furter than that:

We will see about the next one. My vacation ends today, and I have to exit my man's cave :)
But will continue to sculpt for sure, just not that much :)

Yes that would work, I think her head would need to turn a bit further but I like the idea of having her hand above her eyeline, gives the painter the opportunity to paint a raised eye, and makes the reflected image in the mirror more fun.

I know it is still a rough but you need to drop the lapels down a lot further and open them more at the top, on your original image there is a lot of necktie visible. Pockets look to be at the right level .

I think she will be another beauty.

My wife just pointed out that she is going to need a handbag to keep that lippy and compact in, no lady would be seen wandering around with them in her pocket.

****Edit****

Turns out she was correct, listed in the uniform issue:
Bag, Utility, Nurses’ – Stock No. 74-B-56-35
Leather Handbag with pockets and change purse, olive-drab cotton poplin lining, with adjustable and removable strap, in Army Russet Color

Unfortunately only strap will be visible...

The pose works well , very unusual. Especially so to make her left handed, was that deliberate?

Darn... nope :) :) :)

I just positioned the mirror so she is looking up, and went from there...
But I am wondering now... If she is left handed, would the purse go to the left side ???
Or to mirror the pose ?

Edit:
Off course, there is possibility of mirroring the pose, but I like it this way because it looks very much like the pose from poster...

I cannot find any information regarding how it was worn in WW2 regulations. Modern US uniform code says held in hand or over "a shoulder" but does not specify which, but does prohibit wearing it cross body. However there are lots of pictures of WW2 women's auxiliary forces wearing a handbag cross body so I assume the regs have changed sometime between WW2 and now.
I would leave it, and don't mirror her. As I said it is unusual to have a left handed figure.

Nail biting for wrinkles in her clothes.....

I had a few more things to fix first. Hands a bit too small, collar to small and to high on the chest, some fingers "broken" etc...
Funny thing, I was measuring the length of fingers in relation to the head according to my fingers, and it appears I have a funny and non-conventionally short fingers :)
My wife noticed: those are chicken legs and not human hands :) :) :)

But wrinkles are next...
