Horse looks good, Simon.
May I suggest that you add a curve to its tail? Straight, it looks wrong to me.
Just a thought.
Cheers David, yes you are right about the tail I've been living with it but as I have developed the technique I think it does need sorting.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year to you and yours.

Not a great deal to report, I have added an arm though still need to put in the hand and gauntlet cuff. I took David's advice and have started making the horses tail look a little more believable and I put his helmet plume on. It is wrapped in cloth for protection from the elements with just the tip left showing any colour. 20241229_132616.jpg20241229_132632.jpg

Hi Simon

Nice to see the update ....good start on the arm ...always good to have them ...lol

Liking the wrapped plume , possibly a little too high ?

Looking forward to seeing more

Happy benchtime

A little too high!, yeah your probably right but hey it's done now so I'll live with it. I thought I was being clever using paper circles all stuck together with liquid sprue!

Cheers Simon

Coming on splendidly, Simon.
Rather than wrapping the plumes they generally just unsocketed them and probably stowed then in the portmanteau but i like what you've done nevertheless.

Cheers Melanie, can't remember where I saw it, probably the Osprey book but I like the look of it. That really was the deciding factor, from what I've read the poor cavalryman was liable for loss or damage so the portmanteau would be best practice. But since he is going to be painted parade ground clean anyway a flash of colour won't go amiss.

Eggs and omelettes...
There's nothing wrong with a bit of artistic licence, and the plume looks good nonetheless.
