Hi Richie

Catching up a bit , a fine decision to do that figure based on a iconic picture ...epitomises the bravery and the word “Arnhem”

Looking forward to seeing the larger piece painted up and the 1/35th in the Diorama

Great thread here so big thanks for sharing

Have fun @ the bench

Hi Nap,
Thank you, I'm chomping at the bit to start that Oosterbeek project but must get the other vignettes finished.
Yeah I'm really pleased I got that figure done and another one coming along to go with him.
cheers
Richie

Hi All,
This is Sandy to date after a couple of painting sessions. I had to remove the chin strap to get at the face properly.
I thought with so much discussion in the past about scales and someone wanted a copy of Sandy to go with a 120mm figure,
well this is the comparison.
1/16 C.S.M. Williams sculpted by Mike Blank.
1/16 British Airborne Sandy Cortmann sculpted by Ariel Genaro.
120mm British Airborne sculpted by Moz Corry.

cheers

Lovely figure Richie but he really needs to fasten his chin strap, though those chin straps could be a pain as you don't want a parachute helmet that can come unfastened during your descent!

Cheers Simon

Hi Richie

This is coming along well , like the groundwork , look forward to seeing more

As for the sten ...I thought Simon used a slingshot on the ranges ......lol

Happy benchtime

Nap

Hi Nap, Thank you, the base only took me about half an hour including painting. All the bits came out of my rubble box and the rusted steel rods are flower maker's wire..
Cheers Richie

A sneak preview. Fantastic job done by Julie and Paul at name-it.

Hi All,
I have finished all the projects with the exception of the Dutch Underground. I will find time to photograph them later. I did put a layer of grass down
on the Dutch Underground base to see how the puffer worked and I have made the basic walls and floor for the Last Stand of the 10th Oosterbeek.
As soon as the 1/16 figure arrives I will make the moulds and get one up to primer stage as I want to take a few W.I.P. pieces to the Easingwold show next week along with the finished pieces.
cheers
Richie

Stunning Richie, a great tribute to the brave men who fought at Arnhem, it's good to see the second figure suited and booted in deference to those no longer with us. Not an unusual sight where I live, Farnborough just up the road from Aldershot, the PRA often have something going on. Not sure what will happen here at the start of July, as far as I know the Trafalgar is no longer the last bastion of the Regiment in town. Not sure other establishments would be able to cope with a few hundred former Paras who just want to drink all weekend!

Cheers Simon
