Wow, I'm impressed with the quality portrayed in the picture and the price is remarkable. Please keep us updated if you purchaseo one of these models. I would like to see images of the unpainted and painted versions that you recieve.

That sounds great, wonder if they will mind if I pop along with a MG42 for scanning :nailbiting:
Looking at the report it states the print will be 20cm`s that equates to a 1/9 200mm figure if you have a human scanned, I will definitely be trying it out when it rolls out, might even make the trip to York if I cannot wait until it reaches Leicester.
Providing the prints are of a good quality it opens a lot of doors, would be worth hiring a re-enactor to pose in his uniform to get a perfectly posed figure of your choice, only issue may be weapons, cannot see Asda being happy to allow them into the stores.

Official video for this

Seems real - but I'm smelling a hoax? May be well off the mark, as its being reported by major news outlets. :cautious:

Word has it that the microsoft x box/kinect system has been 'hacked' to permit 3d scanning with really good results. Maybe that is the way ahead getting weapons etc scanned?

Pops, they don't need to be hacked, you can download the software online. Its in a thread here on this site. I downloaded the sw but haven't had time to try it out yet, you just hook the kinects to your computer via usb and scan. Rich, you might be right about it being hoax. the time frame for printing and the cost seem unreal to me, but I'm keeping an open hopeful mind :)
