“The 2009 Atlanta Model Figure show will be combined with the first show put on by the local AMPS (Armor Modeling and Preservation Society) chapter. The shows will be combined but separate. The figure show and its vending are in the same old spot in the hotel but the Armor show and vending are on the other side of the hotel. Exhibitors will need to decide if they want their entries judged on the figure side or the armor side. Each will be using their established judging criteria and procedures. General admission and registered exhibitors will have access to both sides of the hotel, two shows for one price. There will be ample signage at the show and many people to answer questions. Be aware that having two shows in one will put added pressure on the available guest rooms at the hotel so don't put off making your reservations. And when doing so, mention that you are with the AMFS show to take advantage of the reduced room rate.
The Atlanta Military Figure Society is in the envious position of being able to carry through on some of the objectives in its charter. We are a robust supporter of the Artist Preservation Group and now are in a position to give a leg up and support to a thriving group of modelers as they establish their show.”

The show will be held February 20-22, 2009. And, as in the past, everyone registering an exhibit and in attendance at the Atlanta Model Figure Show will receive a free “Show Figure”. This year the figure is the second in a three figure set of Macon Volunteers in the Seminole Indian Wars. The 75mm figure was sculpted by Alan Ball, cast by United Empire Miniatures and painted by David Oswalt.
