Like so many of us I’ve been trying to make productive time from my COVID “shelter in place” time. I figured it would be a good time to reduce my stash by a figure or two. So, I closed my eyes, reached into my Gray Army treasure chest and pulled out . . .
This Bonaparte 203 mm bust of a Napoleonic Austrian Hussar officer. It’s painted in the scheme of the Ott (5th) Regiment. The face was a challenge to paint with the brim of the shako hanging out the way it is. The sculpting on the chin is a bit wonky, but the pose really captures the attitude of a hussar of the period. There’s some great detail molded into this kit.
It’s painted in oils. As always, I’m open to comments, suggestions, and feedback
