Bit of progress on this. Apologies re the pictures but I’m using an old base with the centre drilled to support the figure and it’s now even bigger and struggling to fit it on the screen of my phones camera. I’ve now attached the torso to the legs which needed a bit of filling in the join hence the reason I’d held off painting the trousers. Done some more work on the lace and harness detail and attached the scabbard and sabretache (a bit fiddly to say the least). The sword blade is basecoated and will be detailed. Need to research an officer quality Mameluke sabre to see if there would have been any colouring or detail work near the hilt to further illustrate his rank and status. Gauntlets still need doing and base ordered from Richard at Oakwood but hopefully it’s coming together a bit now. Need to finish the cockade and tidy up some areas around the scale rings on the shako.

Thanks Nap. There’s some great detail on the horse-veins and the harnessing.

Getting closer to the end now. Done the legs, sword and sabretache In oils and added the reins and picket rein from foil. Finished the remainder of the fur on the pelisse and added a bit of gloss varnish to the shako peak and neck cover to help simulate a bit of sheen on the leather. Looking forward to any similar future releases in this vein from Gordon - maybe a British Light Dragoon in plastron fronted tunic or Kings German Legion heavy dragoon in the Peninsula? Got my fingers crossed.
