Hi all,

here Colonel Baron Lejeune frome Metal Modeles

is.php

I've paint it with oils around October 2005.

It's my first and only napoleonian figure.
I have no feelings with that period of history (mine is the french and indian wars).

But everybody who want to improve has to paint one napoleonian figure.

There is lots of small details. You learn to have steady hand, and patience :)

I'll paint another napoleonian figure for sur in the futur, but not tomorrow yet ;)

Jean Paul that's one of the best painted Colonel Baron Lejeune I have ever seen. You really did great for your first Napoleonic figure.
I mainly paint Napoleonic figures, so I understand 100% what you mean about the details, steady hand and patience :)

Do you mind sharing your reds formula? Since many of us paint in oils, that would be great. Thanks in advnace.

Hi all,

thx for comments.

Xenofon : thx for your comments.
Here the colors I used for the reds : Cadium Red Deep + Venisian Red.
Highlights : Cadium Red Light, Warm Grey.
Shadows : Burnt Umber, Bayeux Violet, Cold Grey.

If I had to paint again this red I think I'll add some deep blue to the deep shadows.

Jay : the background is an idea from my friend Luca Piergentili.

Jean Paul, this is a top figure in the first place, which you have elevated even further by some top painting. Well done indeed mate. You may have a unkown talent for those Napoleonics.... ;)

Hi Jean Paul,

That is one hell of a paint job - simply beautiful - wouldn't mind seeing some more of your art work.

Kind regards.
