Great kit this one and excellent value for money, given extensive scenery that comes with it.

But my dilemma is: Should I have the kit base ....

1) Overhanging the edges of a wooden base (as in pics 1 & 2)?
2) Flush with the edges of a wooden base? Or
3) Stepped in from the edges of a wooden base (as in pic 3)?

Right now I'm leaning towards 1) followed by 2) followed by 3). But I really can't decide!!

I would add that neither of the bases in these pics is suitable, they are just to give an idea.

I await with interest opinions and suggestions so that I can then get a custom base magicked up by a competent base-smith.

Personally, Im not an fan of the overhanging thing and would opt for the flush or set in a bit - purely because of transporting items incurs less damage..!! Or maybe, Im just a clumsy git..!!(y)

I’d go flush with base Steve.
As an additional idea: Flush with base, but with one or two additional (lower) steps extending from the base, so that the downward path continues beyond the base.

Always tough decisions this kind of thing...don’t lose sleep!

Personally, flush or inset. Overhang only really works with more natural looking basing rather than urban settings.
