I have it too but afraid to start because of the bullets, they look really hard to paint. Congrats on getting up the courage to start and finish this fantastic bust. The pics aren't perfect but it looks like maybe a little more highlighting could do a world of good. Nice work sir.

Thanks Mike. When you start yours be careful with the gun belt. I found by soaking the resin belt peices in hot water they softened up enough to form to his body shape. The bullets were monotonous if anything. I used brass printers ink which went on really smooth.

good luck!

Thanks all! I figured (no pun intended) that I've "talked the talk" long enough but it was time to "walk the walk" and show something. How about others who offer encouragement and friendly comments to the PM members to also do the same?

Thanks again,

Gary

beautiful! I like the naturalistic rendering of skin tones without over shading which works better on larger scale figures like this.

Thanks very much for the compliments! For 5:00 shadow, I put a very small bit of Winsor Newton Artist Oils Paynes Grey on my disposable pallet paper and with a round tipped brush I use for blending just pick up enough grey so you are almost drybrushing. Lightly stipple (don't swipe) a thin coat over the area you want. Go over it in areas where you want to show a heavier beard. It's simple really.

Thanks again,

Gary
