CAMERON HIGHLANDER, SUDAN 1898
This is one of the latest figures from Benieto Miniatures, sculpted by the talented hands of Jose Hidalgo. It represents a Cameron Highlander of the Sudan 1898. The figure is 54mm in scale and is cast in ten white metal pieces and has a resin base. The parts come in the usual foam lined protected box and there is colour box art picture on the front to use as reference.
A close inspection shows a good level of casting with only the finest of seam lines to remove and a few spu tags to remove that is associated with any white metal casting parts.
A close inspection of the front and rear of the one piece cast torso shows the level of detail in the casting and the sharp detail that Jose has sculpted into the pleats of the kilt.
Three views of the head. The helmet and head are a one piece casting. The expression and look of the face suite this figure very well.
We can see from three different angles the test fitting of the head and arms, the fitting was good with no evidence of any gaps between the joints. A small amount of sticky tak was used for the purpose of the review.

The part assembled figure locates well into the recesses of the supplied resin base.
Conclusion:
Another fine release from this long established company. The parts of the figure are well cast and the dry fitting of parts was good. Usual minimal clean-up of parts. The figure has a nice dynamic pose and will prove a challenge to the painter with the tartan pattern, I am sure it will generate a lot of interest and be very popular. Highly Recommended.
