Been putting this off for a while as the sculpt is so good, I was not confident I could do it justice... Anyway, had a go. Hope you like it

Nice to see a 75mm version of this , looks good , do like the way you’ve painted the trousers and the shoes ( nice weathering )

The shield has come out well , highlighting the casting effects nicely

Excellent. It is good to see a plain shield as most medieval shields were. Viking figures too often receive shields with elaborate but irrelevant painting.

Yeah, I struggled a bit as a painted shield would look awesome but as you say, is not required to make him "accurate".
 
Wonderfully well painted figure, really like how you've handled the different textures and small details such as the drinking horn. At the battle of Stamford Bridge where else would he be but on the bridge itself, love the flower poking through, awesome little detail.
