Hi All,

I've just started reading Bill Horan's Modelling Masterclass (the 1994 edition) and am truly inspired by the master.

My query is how does his newer 2005 book (published by Andrea) compare to the 1994 edition? If I have the '94 edition, is there much worth in buying the new book? Does he discuss many new techniques? Any one know of a review anywhere?

TIA

Rudi :)

Though Andrea's book on first glance seems great, it does not hold a candle to Bill's masterclass book, especially as a learning tool. While Andrea's book had the promise of being a great catalog of work, it fell short where quality control is concerned. You'll get more than your money's worth out of the Masterclass book and less out of Andrea's in my opinion, and for less money. ~Gary

I just recently got to look at the Andrea Horan book an to be honest...It was terrible!! We all know that Bill's work is top notch, I have been to his home on several occasions and seen his work in person, and it is beautiful indeed.

But, the printing quality of the Andrea book is dreadful. It appears to of been printed by a low quality Spanish print house, with real poor equipment. Many of the images look to be low resoulition web images that they have grabbed off of the internet and then printed wwaaayyyy too large, as they are very washed out and grainy.

I have original prints of many of the images used in the book, they were taken by Bill himself (also a grand photographer he is!). These photos are beautiful, but in Andrea's book the same photos are terrible.

To add to the insult that this book is, it now sells for $147.95 in U.S. shops!!

The old Masterclass book is definately the way to go.

Thanks for the feedback guys.... I think I'll rather just stick to the one I have then... I'll rather spend the money on more figures ;)

Thanks again

Rudi :)
