Brian, the way you do the weathering in your figures is fantastic. Another beautiful piece.

Pedro.
Many thanks pedro, weathering has always been a part of figure painting i enjoy and i have recieved some lovely coments for this piece and previous pieces,i'm glad you like my weathering and many thanks for the kind coments (y)

You've captured everything there, Brian - the menacing character, the period, the atmosphere.
Figure painting at it's very best - absolutely stunning (y)
Many thanks nick for your very kind words and coments,i'm glad i decided on a backdrop now as it really has come together well, better than i had expected (y)

Brian, it has all been said above; brilliant work you should be very proud.
Dennis

Another beautifully photographed example of raising the
hobby to a Work of Art. Oh my goodness, Sir. You are one
outstanding artist. You understand colour and composition,
light and shadow so perfectly. I am sure you would, if you're
not already, be as equally at home painting on canvas.
Incredible! Also, a perfect example of colour harmony. . .
Congratulations on a beautiful presentation of a work on Art.
The Miami Jayhawk
Hi my friend,i feel very honoured to be called an outstanding artist,i'm a very modest person at heart though but your words are very encourging,i always set out to give everything i've got to a piece and it seems like everything has come together really well for me on this subject, however i have never painted on canvas but i do watch alot of art programmes on sky tv and its suprising the little tips ive paicked up and used them in my own painting technique, many thanks for your kind words and inspiration,as i've said before here on the forum, such positive coments give me so much confidence and enthusiasum to drive forward the next project.

Very atmospheric piece Brian! You could almost call it a diorama.

Adrian
Many thanks adrian,i suppose it does look like a mini diorama, diorama building was one of my great pleasures back in the late 80s and i'm still going to use little scenes like this one to portay more figures in the future, many thanks my friend for your kind coments (y)

Superb finish Brian and looking forward to seeing it in the flesh at Figure World . Brilliant mate. (y)

Cheers Ken
Hi ken, hope your keeping well, thanks for the kind coments mate,i'm looking forward to seeing old faces again at figureworld, and yes ill be bringing bill along as well (y)

You've done a brilliant job on Bill.I didn't have the patience to create a remarkable back drop to mine as you've done to yours.
Brian
Many thanks brian for those kind words and coments, your Bill Sikes was very inspirational for me as i had just recieved mine when you posted yours up,i loved everything about your Bill and Bullseye as it was a stunning paint job and as i've already said it inspired me when painting mine,Many thanks mate (y)

very good work all around.
I think the pictures don't do justice to the colors. On my screen the walls are very green.
But what a great environment you have build. Amazing work.

Marc
Hi Marc, many thanks for the kind coments mate,i did say when i posted it that the pictures would'nt be up to standard ,the walls may seem green but in fact its a shade of yellow i used to simulate the light from the street-lamp,i'm glad you liked it mate (y)

I'm thinking of investing in a new camera this christmas, hopefully in the future i can post some decent pictures

Frickin' awesome Brian. Great atmospherics and attention to detail mate. Well done.
Hi Tony, glad you liked it mate, you know what i'm like for adding backdrops and scenery, alot of people here on the planet have comented on the atmosphere of the piece and thats great to hear because i really wanted to create that victorian look and its turned out better than i first imagined, thanks again for the kind coments mate (y)

I really like this piece, but if there was one thing that seems a little off to me it would be the light. The broken areas should be very bright because the light has nothing to diffuse it there. So it should not be dark but bright with an almost white edge to the broken glass edges. Every thing else looks wonderful. I have never painted a figure like this and it is a challenge I would very much like to try someday.
Many thanks jeff for your kind coments,i've taken your point on board regarding the light, yes i have missed adding the whiteness to the edges of the broken glass,an oversight on my part, its the first time ive ever painted a figure like this and i'm well pleases with the way things turned out,(y)
