As promised here is my latest completed 54mm figure. He was known by many names in the wild west, Henry McCarty, Wiĺliam Bonney, Kid Antrim, Brushy Bill, and most famously Billy the kid.
Billy was rumoured as having killed 21 men by his 21st birthday. He was allegedly shot and killed in Fort Sumner, New Mexico in 1881. There is a theory that he survived and lived to a good age as Brushy Bill Roberts but unfortunately this cannot yet be proven.
The figure is of Billy posing for the famous full length photo taken of him in late 1879. The photo was a tintype and the original shows a mirror to the side of Billy used to reflect a better light on him. I tried this with the figure but it didn't work well so I replaced it with a chair using artistic licence. You will notice the figure looks opposite to the photo but in those days photos were printed as a reversed image. its also why he was known as a left handed gunfighter.
This will be my last entry on here for a while as while on holiday in Spain I picked up a 1/10th scale Artesania Latina Concord American stage coach 1848. This will be constructed completely from various woods and is something I have always wanted to construct. I'm taking my time with this and envisage it taking several months. As its not a figure I don't think I can show it here so it may be a while before I'm back. I shall keep dipping in to see how everyone is and whats being produced so have a great year everyone and hope you like Billy.
