I'm absolutely useless with uniform recognition. So here goes
Country of origin,Turkey maybe.
Regiment,The Turkish Terror's.
Date.1800's
If wrong I'm going with Roger.

The Turks didn't have peaks to their headgear, did they? Till after the overthrow of the Sultan and the secularisation of the country? I recall reading that it's an old Muslim belief that the peak, or brim, of a hat, comes between the wearer's eyes and Allah, and only someone ashamed of himself would not want to look upon Allah. Apparently they attributed that shame to us Christians, because brims were generally in style at the time. But I also recall that that's why the Turks' helmets in the early 1900's had no peak.

Prost!
Brad

Its a 'Cook'. ... 'Chef-de Battalion', the drum is a 'Ruse de guerre', .. it's really a big pot of 'Porridge'. (y) ..

Right now we are all sorted! ... we move on.
