"Black Dog" brings six new WW1 soldiers - two each from a field post number.

All figures are made of resin, in 1:35 scale and modeled by Hwang Jung-Min. They are available in two sets as well as individually:

No. F35194

No. F35195

Germans:

No. F35197

No. F35198

------------------------------------------

French:

No. F35202

No. F35200

No. F35201

----------------------------------------

New are also these two 75 mm guys ...:

Title: German Army Captain
Scale: 75 mm

Modeler: Lukas Zaba
Boxing: Michal Krepelka
Number: F75020

-----------------------------------------

Title: Medieval Knight 15th century

Black Dog do some decent stuff, but it's not easy to get hold of in the UK.

Of the five UK distributors listed on the BD web site, entering the search term "Black Dog" (or "BlackDog") draws a blank on three of them, and one of the links (StoryModels) is dead.

Only the vendor "sgsmodelstore" claims to be able to get any BD product "currently available", but appears to stock only a limited range.

No disrespect, all the figures are well sculpted (French & Germans particularly so) but the shape of the Brits’ helmets looks more like WW2 Mk.II versions & the puttees look a bit strange on both of them. The 75mm German Captain looks really good though.

Steve,

I buy Black Dog items from HobbyEasy in Hong Kong. Fast shipping always from them.

Chris.

Cheers Chris. Good to know, but I've always found that ordering from East Asia can be a bit of a lottery in terms of getting shafted for customs and so-called "handling" by good old ParcelFarce. Occasionally I've been lucky, but more often than not I've been stung (I don't mind the import VAT so much, it's more the "handling" element that pisses me off, especially when that's higher than the tax itself).

I've seen vendors selling BD products at UK shows, but very seldom anything I've been interested in.
