I've been collecting this limited edition series by Maurizio Bruno. But I missed the first one. Has anyone got one they'd like to sell.

The only one of the series that I've missed so far. I was unaware of its release until it was too late (same as you guys I suspect).

Limited editions, even worse when time limited, really piss me off
Particularly when unless you're on Facebook you've virtually no chance.
By the time the news reaches the likes of pF the edition is sold out.
Best of luck in your quest.

Putting myself in manufacturers' shoes I kind of understand why they do it from the marketing standpoint, but yeah it can be very annoying & frustrating when you just want to paint the bloody figure to stick in your cabinet.

It seems to be getting more common in the hobby of late. Another variation of it is to release a new piece and include with it some bonus ("the first 50 come with an extra XYZ") which is then no longer available with the general release a month or two (or however long) afterwards.

All this stuff exploits the psychological phenomenon of FOMO, aka "Fear Of Missing Out", which marketing bods commonly seek to take advantage of. I even recall a while back seeing one figure producer (I don't remember who though) making a song & dance about how they were going to video the masters being destroyed once the limited run had finished - just so that the lucky punters would know that it really was a "limited edition" they had bought. Whether or not that ever happened or whether it was just all marketing guff, I don't know.

I guess unless it is Pegaso, Andrea, Beneito and one or two other big players, all releases are "limited editions", comparatively speaking. Maurizio Bruno's work is exceptional, and as far as I can see, limiting the availability doesn't make it any better - just "persuades" those who must have it to jump earlier.
Good luck in your search Steve(y)

I don't recall seeing the arquebuser being advertised on PF. Otherwise I would have snapped it up.

It's a bit like getting to the shops just as they are shutting. Frustration with a capital Eff.

Unfortunately Facebook seems to be the main platform for some sculptors/producers these days, with forums such as ours something of an afterthought. MB only started advertising these releases on here starting from the Jacobite. Before that (according to his posting record) he'd been inactive on pF for about 7 years.

Anyway as others have said, good luck with your search.

I've been after this one, too, but no luck whatsoever. I relented and joined FB so I didn't miss out on further announcements. Maurizio does make exceedingly good figures  And in a period I've come to appreciate lately. Perhaps he will hear our cry of despair and cast some more. But I suspect he may have destroyed the moulds.

Hi Steve

Hope you get this but as its a limited I think it's a case of grab these when you see them

It woukd be good if releases were put on PF of course ....personally I am not keen on FB in the slightest but it's a massive platform for companies

...Members are welcome to share things they see in Figure News of course

Companies do limited for reasons , time, cost etc

Bit confused why so many posts regarding this being limited when Steve is just using the Marketplace to see if anyone has it to sell

It's a changing world and a changing hobby in terms of manufacturing, marketing etc and with using social media and other high traffic platforms to maximize the views and sales of products to sell in a short time span is the way to go and gets the revenue outlay retuned in weeks other than months so allows the manufacturer to pay for the next project. Theses platforms and ways of advertising and promoting products are free to everyone so its down to the individual to choose if they want to be part of the community to be able to purchase limited addition goods by way of instantant notification. If your not in it you can't win it.... Like I said its a changing hobby and each to their own on the wide range of choices.
Cheers
Tommi
