Nicely done Derek, love the skin tones and the overall choice of colour including the subtlety of the body art.
Great piece.

Mark much appreciated.
The tattoo certainly caused some problems to get it convincing. What I wanted was the sort of faded look that you get from older style tattooing techniques.
After a few attempts I had more or less decided to settle on a look that was more painted body art rather than a tattoo.
As a final try I mixed up a mid blue using the basic flesh mix with a touch of Prussian blue and painted the design in sections. The reason for this was when each bit of the design was about half way dry I pressed the area quite hard with my thumb, this lifted the sharpness leaving the faded look I was after. When each area of the design was fully dry I moved on to the next. You've got to do it a bit at a time as you only get one go or you risk a mess if you press more than once.
Cheers

Very nice indeed Del, really like comparing yours and Brian's versions to see the various differences in them, Both look top notch
Steve

This guy looks sharp Del, very natural looking (y)!

How about a shot of the nameplate.

Joe

Thanks Joe. I've decided to take it through to a finish over the next few days so I'll be basing it up properly and doing a plate.
Will post finished and clearer shots then.
Cheers

Steve

Much appreciated Steve and it's very flattering of you to compare mine favourably to Brian's. Some way to go yet but I do feel I've taken a leap forward over the last few months.
Cheers

Pleased you are getting him finished Del would be a shame having hanging around unfinished, looks great!

Cheers

Neil

Thanks Neil, Its as much about trying to take a decent photo so I'll finish it and for a change really try to get a good shot or two.

Excellent work Del! .... another piece worthy of repeated study! I do like it when I can repeatedly look at a piece and find something new each time! ..(y)
