Hi Fernando
A brilliant SBS my friend and much appreciated.Could you let me know what kind of Matt Varnish you used and did you have to thin it down?
Brian

Hi, Brian!
Glad you like it. The matt varnish I apply is the standard synthetic matt enamel varnish for wood you can buy in any hardware store. I use a spanish brand (Titanlux)that is really common and cheap. I apply it with airbrush, diluted with a drop of Humbrol's enamel thinner and the results are fantastic. I've never seen anything more effective than this:

I believe that you can get similar results with any matt varnish of the same kind, no matter the brand, but I'm not 100% sure. Don't know if you can buy it in overseas stores. Here is the Titan site (in english):

If you are interested, maybe you can get it online here (1/2 litre):

Great tutorial. I do have a couple of questions though. First of all I know that this is a very large bust, so with that in mind can this technique be put to practice on a smaller figure such as a 54mm? also, what about the paint selection, I use Americana acrylic paints which are similar to tempra paints/craft acrylic paints, can you get that same look on your flesh tones as you would with Vallejo?
