I'll see what you two gents think of it but I'll stick to water and white spirit for now....

Don't know it but the selling points on the front there - "biodegradable, non-toxic and no fumes" - would fit many brush cleaners, including good ol' soap and water :)

Out of curiosity, you looking for a better cleaning regime Keith?

Hi Einion,

I'm quite lazy with brush cleaning and wondered about this product-I usually use a petroleum based cleaner from the art shop but this seemed as though it might be less toxic and perhaps easier to use especially if it removes dried acrylic paint.............do you know this product? it seems quite new?

As I said I don't know it but W&N make something very similar for example, with the same listed benefits and properties, so it doesn't appear to be revolutionary or anything. Without anything specific to suggest Bristle Magic is better, and in what ways, compared to other products for the same purpose I wouldn't be rushing to try it except if it was very competitive on price.

For brushes used for oils the old standby of soap and water really does take some beating in terms of effectiveness and cheapness, and of course you couldn't ask for anything more non-toxic.

The main thing to try to avoid with acrylics - paint drying in the brush. It's not hard to avoid this, the hard part is getting into the habit of regular, thorough, rinsing :) It is worth it though, since this is one of those things where prevention is definitely better than cure.
