Hi all!

Stu has asked me to paint a second version of his 120mm Brit Tanker with a camo Pixie suit.

As mentioned on the previous thread it seems they were rare and reference is therefore even rarer!

There's a gentleman over on onesixth forum who posted pics of a camo Pixie that he owns dated 1944, so in lieu of any other reference I will be using it to lay down the design for my rendition ;)

The kit is obviously exactly the same so I will use some pics from my first thread here :)

Parts again ....

Here is the base colour down ..

.. I'm saving the last level of highlighting until I have the camo pattern down. This is to help unify the colours and I want a faded and lived in look for the camo one ....

That is as far as I have got, updates as I work on it :)

Pedro ... Cheers mate :)

Camo patterns!

Mind bogglingly slow process of checking reference and then mapping out the colour blocks!

This is done with the mid tone colour so that I can highlight at the next stage ( lots still to mark out :( )

The green is AV Russian Uniform and Ger. Cam. Bright Green 2:1
The brown is AV Burnt Umber ( surprise!! )

:)

So different to the other version.:)

Looking good Mark, the camo is coming together just fine. I konow how difficult is is to paint this with all the different highlights and shadows for the different parts of the patterns but you are making a fine job and I look foward to seeing the final result.

Cheers

Stu ... Cheers! :)

Carl ... Thanks :)

Tommi ... Many thanks :)

Ken ... Thank you! :)

Sam ... Cheers! :)

Peter ... Again thanks :)

Almost there!

Just about finished, some tidy ups, some matting down and then a bit of light weathering to finish this off!

I will also be adding some red leaves to the base to give it a splash of colour :)

These camo patterns are hard work but always rewarding visually....:whistle:

Cheers Mark. This is another really nicely done piece. Love watching your style progress. Well done sir.
