Brilliant job. Great painting and I love the subtle battle effects. For some reason I was really taken by the way you have painted the very dark hair and tache, perfect colouring I think which makes him look just the right age.

No-one else has said this; so if I may, I love the groundwork on this piece John.
Subtle and dusty as it is, it places and defines the figure very well.
But..........

That's one lovely piece John (y)! The colors are really good looking without being over the top. Ah, and that face. He truly looks from the period!

Thanks Zeno,appreciate your comments,glad you like him. I used blue from the Andrea blue set. 1st Shadow as the base colour and black added for shadows and white for high lights.
